Andy Cahan, former member of the hit band, The Turtles, was born in Brookyln, New York in 1947.
In his formative years, Andy was introduced to the sounds of classical music and The Beatles, eventually leading him to hone his skills in piano, drums, guitar, and crafting songs.
His first gig was with a surf band called the Jaguars, in 1964.
This was primarily an instrumental band, with Andy taking up the Thomas organ.
In 1965 Andy then formed "The Individuals" , wrote all the songs and booked and managed the band. He played the Farfisa Combo Compact organ, years later to be recognized as a garage band cult Hero, "Johnny Farfisa".
Soon after, he was a young 20 year old on a fast track to the most fantastic life, moving from New York to L.A., mixing with the worlds finest talent, while playing and crafting hits.
Between hard work and incredible synchronicity, Andy Cahan found himself among luminaries such as Jimi Hendrix, Ringo Starr, Frank Zappa, The Turtles, Dr. John The Night Tripper and Seals and Croft to name a few. Some of Andy’s more memorable experiences include being the music director for The Grammy’s and
American Bandstand, showcasing Little Richard and Chuck Berry.
A highlight was working on the cartoon soundtrack with Ray Bolger,
and television commercials with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon!
Andy is currently on speaking and performing tours, while finishing his book, featuring his life’s work and memorabilia, titled, “The Most Famous Musician You Never Heard Of.”
Five percent of the sales of book and Bedtime Stories Series goes to the organization, National End Handguns Violence.
Andy has successfully raised money assisting the hurricane victims in Puerto Rico and the Parkland School Shooting victims.
DISCOGRAPHY
I am so very grateful to have been part of this amazing album! Since Howard is unable to tour with The Happy Together Tour 2019, Mark Volman and Ron Dante optioned to have Howard sing the lead vocal on the Happy Together live track from the stage, which of course is only appropriate.
Consequently I was hired to record Howard singing Happy Together in my Demo Doctor, Pro Tools Living room in Cathedral City. He sang it in one take effortlessly! Now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls the definitive version of Happy Together! Soon to be released on the Happy Together Tour 2019.

These previously unreleased live and studio sessions are a loose exercise in spontaneity, and sheer art, which has been lost in the mists of time. We are talking about Geronimo Black, a truly underrated band which had existed long before its self-titled debut album released officially by UNI Records in February 1972.
I am on the new Harry Nilsson album. The following tracks were recorded in my Laurel Canyon living room.
Mark Hudson, just removed Harry's vocals from my master and redid the music. Knowing Mark Hudson, I will not be mentioned on the album. Harry was pissed off at Mark because Mark would never return Harry's phone calls. Hence, Harry only wanted to work with me, not with Mark.
Isn't it a pity. :(
Now Mark titles the album after his song.
karma will catch up to Mark real soon.
Track Listings
1. Lost And Found: Recorded on my Fostex four track cassette
4. High Heel Sneakers/Rescue Boy Medley: Harry wrote this song for me since I got him back in to recording and writing music after many years. Recorded on ADAT.
5. Lullabye: Recorded on my Fostex four track cassette
11. What Does A Woman See In A Man:
Jimmy Webb came over my house and played the piano part on my Ensoniq Performance Sampler. He hated it because it was a plastic keyboard, not weighted keys like on a real piano. But Harry got him to play it after much coaxing.
